A new cavitation model considering inter-bubble action

چکیده

The process of cavitation involves generation, growth, coalescence, and collapse small bubbles is tremendously influenced by bubble–bubble interactions. To understand these interactions, a new model based on the transport equation proposed herein. modified Rayleigh–Plesset analyzed to determine bubble growth rate assuming equal-sized spherical clouds. source term in then derived according with bubble-bubble interaction. validated various test simulations, including microscopic cloud evolution as well macroscopical two- three-dimensional cavitating flows. Compared previous models, namely Kunz Zwart newly does not require adjustable parameters generally results better predictions both cases. This more physical.

Cavitation bubble dynamics.

The dynamics of cavitation bubbles on water is investigated for bubbles produced optically and acoustically. Single bubble dynamics is studied with laser produced bubbles and high speed photography with framing rates up to 20.8 million frames per second. Examples for jet formation and shock wave emission are given. Acoustic cavitation is produced in water in the interior of piezoelectric cylind...

Cavitation bubble behavior inside a liquid jet

The growth and collapse of laser-induced vapor cavities inside axisymmetric free-falling liquid water jets have been studied. Bubbles of different size are generated at various distances from the jet axis and the effects on the jet interface are recorded by means of ultrafast cinematography. The configuration is characterized by two dimensionless parameters: the bubble to jet diameter ratio and...

Cavitation inception from bubble nuclei.

The tensile strength of ordinary water such as tap water or seawater is typically well below 1 bar. It is governed by cavitation nuclei in the water, not by the tensile strength of the water itself, which is extremely high. Different models of the nuclei have been suggested over the years, and experimental investigations of bubbles and cavitation inception have been presented. These results sug...

A Study of Cavitation - Ignition Bubble Combustion

We present the results of an experimental and computational study of the physics and chemistry of cavitation-ignition bubble combustion (CIBC), a process that occurs when combustible gaseous mixtures are ignited by the high temperatures found inside a rapidly collapsing bubble. The CIBC process is similar to that in a diesel engine. However, the length scales are very small (μm to nm) and the t...

Micro-bubble emission boiling with the cavitation bubble blow pit

The miniaturization boiling (micro-bubble emission boiling [MEB]) phenomenon, with a high heat removal capacity that contributes considerably to the cooling of the divertor of the nuclear fusion reactor, was discovered in the early 1980s. Extensive research on MEB has been performed since its discovery. However, the progress of the application has been delayed because the generation mechanism o...
